Treasure Island, Adaptation by Bryony Lavery

If you are looking for a fun event for the whole family to enjoy, look no further than Treasure Island! Robert Louis Stevenson’s exciting story is being adapted by Bryony Lavery with a live broadcast from the National Theatre. Featuring Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) as Long John Silver!

Treasure Island (published in 1883) tells the story of Jim Hawkin and his boyhood adventures as he embarks on a quest for buried treasure. A wonderful coming of age story that the whole family is sure to enjoy! Treasure Island is actually one of the most dramatized novels of all time. It also laid the foundation of the stereotypical portrayals of pirates, including treasure maps marked with an “X”, tropical islands, one legged seamen, and pirates with the perched parrot on their shoulder.

Satellite broadcast from Londons National Theatre. For more information on this event, click here.
