Movie and Discussion: GROUNDWATER
May 17, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
On Wednesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m., the 26-minute documentary, GROUNDWATER To enact a law for the common good…makes its Northern Arizona debut in Prescott at the historic Elks Theater. Told with humor and through moving interviews, the film recounts the contentious battle among farms, cities, and mines that led to the passage of the celebrated 1980 Groundwater Management Act – Arizonas most significant step in protecting its water resources.
Following the film, renowned water authority Kathleen Ferris will lead a panel of water experts, along with acclaimed filmmaker Michael Schiffer, to engage the audience in a creative, solutions-oriented conversation, focusing on Quad-City and regional water topics. Community members are invited to bring any and all questions to this special event.
