SURRENDER TO WIN FILM FESTIVAL TAKES ON DRAMA OF THE BUSINESS OF RECOVERY & THE HOPE OF FACING ADDICTION AT THE ELKS THEATRE
FILM FESTIVAL asks: Where do you stand on the issue of Facing Addiction and treatment?
Step into the passion and drama of facing addiction and mental illness at Prescotts first annual, 3 day, Surrender To Win Film Festival at The Elks Theatre. Special guest, Sandy Kenyon, from WABC-TV, New York City will be hosting a full slate of films and discussion on the challenges of a growing treatment industry and the hope of millions of people recovering from drug addiction and mental illness across the country.
The film festival begins on Friday April 8, 2016 with the Northern Arizona premiere of The Business of Recovery. As drug and alcohol addictions skyrocket, The Business of Recovery examines the untold billions that are being made off of families in crisis. With little regulation or science, the addiction treatment industry has become a cash cow business that continues to grow while the addiction death rates continue to rise.
Other films being featured over the three (3) day weekend included: The Anonymous People critically acclaimed production shedding light on the hope of over 23 million Americans who are living in long term recovery and the positive impact they are making on communities across the country. Thanks for Sharing a film that addresses the rising problems of sex addiction Call Me Crazy a provocative, moving film linking childhood trauma, addiction and mental illness. Girl on the Edge Saturday nights featured film about drug addiction & equine therapy. Flight Denzel Washingtons incredible performance as a pilot fighting with alcoholism. The Lost Weekend 1945 Best Picture starring Best Actor Ray Millan. A classic film that helps us see how far we have come in facing addiction in the US.
