Clay + Ink + Wax = Fresh New Art Exhibit

Clay + Ink + Wax = Fresh New Art Exhibit

Showcasing art by Prescott area artists, the ‘Tis Art Center and Gallery is conveniently located across from Prescott’s Courthouse Plaza.

Unlike conventional art galleries, the ‘Tis galleries feature affordable fine art paintings, photography and sculpture all of which are displayed in museum style fashion. A charming parlor area with a relaxing comfortable settee awaits visitors near the rear of the main floor gallery. Within it you will find some of the most beautiful handcrafted jewelry and wearable art in the state.

There is always something new to see and experience. The exhibits change every month and artist receptions take place on the 4th Friday of every month in conjunction with Prescott’s 4th Friday Art Walk.

Printmaking and Encaustic

Art is my way of expressing how I see the world around me.  I interpret, through images, what I see and feel as I connect or reconnect with the natural world.  Many of my works represent birds, trees and their environment.  I use various media, in this case printmaking, digital imaging, encaustic, and combinations of these.  This gives me the freedom to express myself in various ways.  .  The creative process is my means of expressing what is within me that cannot be shared otherwise.  And, so, my visual interpretations express something inside me which I am incapable of saying in words.

Patty Heibel

Sculpture and Mixed Media Painting

Art is about making connections

My career was in science and now my laboratory is an art studio where I conduct visual and technical experiments. I find the need to constantly explore, inquire, develop and change, and believe it’s important to continually educate ourselves, push our limits and enjoy the process.

Each sculpture and painting is an experiment, either in the materials, subject, application process or the presentation. I have never been able to duplicate my work exactly as the formulas keep evolving. In my animal sculptures the connection is made through the face and expressive eyes. They are created from paper, wood, glass and fiber clay. Fiber clay does not require firing so I can mix materials and paint them realistically or made to look like bronze.

These 2 artists will be featured int he Mezzanine Gallery through August 14th

We have spent the last year painstakingly remodeling and decorating this beautiful little cabin in Ponderosa Park. Established in 1866 Ponderosa Park is an in-holding neighborhood of approximately 250 homes south of Prescott, AZ. The cabin is nestled 5.5 miles from the Yavapai County Courthouse square and famous Whiskey Row. The community of Ponderosa Park is surrounded by the Prescott National Forest. The Prescott National Forest provides endless outdoor recreational opportunities. We often see wildlife including mule deer and javelina from the front porch.Enter the cabin via the covered front porch into a warm and open living area. The floor plan features lots of light, hickory hardwood floors, pine trim, beautiful art, views of the pines and surrounding forest.

Off one end of the kitchen is the dining room, be sure to “pin” your home on our world map. It features a table with seating for seven. The fully stocked kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite counters and a breakfast bar with two stools. The living room has a couch that is a pull out sleeper with pillow top memory foam mattress; the other couch is a love seat. There is a 54 inch smart television which is connected to basic cable and wifi. You can play music or stream television. The master bedroom features a king memory foam mattress and 32 inch smart television. There is an on-suite ¾ bath with tile surround, linen storage and closet. There is also a private covered patio with seating for two. There are two guest bedrooms, one has a memory foam queen bed and the other has a twin bamboo mattress. Both have closets. All three bedrooms are carpeted, have ceiling fans, black out shades and are equipped with extra blankets and various pillows to ensure a cozy stay. In the hall is a closet with washer and dryer. Cabin has books, cards, games and horseshoe pits for your added enjoyment. Expect clean linens, hand soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, toilet paper and paper towels upon your arrival.

The exterior features a covered front patio perfect to enjoy morning coffee or an evening adult beverage. There is a large outdoor table with seating for six. Around the side is a detached one car garage with a propane BBQ grill, extra refrigerator, 2 folding tables and extra outdoor chairs. The one car detached garage (18×10) provides a convenient place to lock up mountain bikes, quads or outdoor gear when exploring downtown Prescott. The garage door measures 8’10” x 6’11”. The front driveway allows parking for 3 vehicles with room for an additional car by the garage.

Ponderosa Park is a great jumping off point to miles of Forest Service Roads and Mountain Bike Trails. We hope you enjoy the feeling and serenity of this special place as much as we do.
