Temporary Trail Closures to Protect Bald Eagles Nesting Site
If you’re planning on taking a walk around Lynx Lake anytime soon, know that Prescott National Forest will be closing the area around the bald eagle nesting site beginning March 5th, stretching through June 30th, 2016. This particular area is between Lynx Lake and Salida Gulch Trail, the John’s Tank Trail (between these two trails) is closed to public use.
Forest Service personnel will be watching the bald eagles to identify eagles exhibiting breeding behavior. These closures will help visitors provide the eagles with the best possible nesting season.
If you have any questions about the closure, bald eagles and their management on Bradshaw District, please feel free to call Noel Fletcher (928) 443-8020.
