The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is hosting a veteran auction to raise money to send student veterans at Embry-Riddle to the 2016 Student Veterans of America (SVA) National Conference in Orlando, Florida. This gives veterans an opportunity for internships, job opportunities, network with peers and learn about cutting edge programs going on around the country that support veterans in higher education. The SVO is excited to be partnering with local businesses to welcome our fellow veterans into the community and into the University, while raising money towards their higher education.
Pricing for the event begins at just $2 for an auction paddle and raffle tickets are $1 for one, $5 for six, $10 for twelve or $20 for twenty-eight. Auction bids start at $40 and increase by $10. Bill’s Pizza and alcoholic beverages will be available for sale.
The silent auction and raffle items include a vintage Vietnam jacket, a $100 gift certificate to Raskin’s Jewelers, a $50 gift certificate to Home Depot with an additional $65 towards Electrical Services from RBA Electric, 2 dozen cupcakes from JJ’s Cakes, and many more.
There will be 19 student veterans auctioned off during the event, including 3 female veterans. These veterans come from all branches of the military and you can learn more about them on the Student Veteran’s Organization event page here.
