Prescott Area Real Estate By The Numbers – 2016 1st Quarter

Prescott Area Real Estate By The Numbers – 2016 1st Quarter

No matter your price point, Prescott truly has a home to fit every budget.

In the first quarter of 2016, the most expensive home sold for $2 million while the least expensive was $21,000. An estimated 725 homes were sold here this first quarter which averages to about 8 homes per day.

Homes are selling for 98 percent of their listing prices with only 8 percent of those sales attributed to foreclosures and short sales.

Prescott is quaint little town with a population of nearly 40,000, but is also part of the Quad-City area which includes the towns of Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Dewey-Humboldt.

While known for its cowboy-feel, Prescott is home to four golf courses within the city limits.  It is also home to Prescott College, a small liveral arts college focused on environmental and social justice. Prescott even has its own zoo – Heritage Park Zoo.

Prescott has a municipal airport, Ernest A. Love Field and local public transit is handled by Prescott Citibus.

There’s plenty to do year-round in Prescott. The city hosts Frontier Days; the World’s Oldest Rodeo; an Easter Egg-Stravaganza; a Bluegrass Festival; Earth Day; Fourth of July celebration; Tsunami on the Square; arts festivals, a Cinco de Mayo celebration; film festivals; art fairs and so much more.

Prescott is a cozy community located about 65 miles from downtown Phoenix.
